The Role of Digital Technologies in the Industrial Development of the Region

Abstract

   Relevance. Current trends in the development of Russian industry require the adaptation of digital technologies that have a decisive impact on the pace of intensification of innovation processes and competitive characteristics of products that provide the necessary level of the country's economy. The relevance of this topic is due to the fact that the Russian industry determines the vector of technological development of material production and the service sector, contributing to the translation of developments and innovations into the socio-economic spheres of life. The implementation of the set state tasks to ensure the competitiveness of Russian industrial products in domestic and global markets is carried out. Some Russian regions have a high industrial potential, the development of which involves making decisions on the digitalization of production.
   The purpose of this article is to develop a model of industrial development in a digital environment based on the study of regional experience of technological modernization of the industry.
   Objectives: to identify the main problems of the development of digitalization of the industry of the Tyumen region; to identify ways to solve them; to identify key areas of influence of the digital environment on profile enterprises based on the analysis of scientific and theoretical approaches on the role of digital technologies in the development of industrial production.
   Methodology. The study was conducted on the basis of statistical indicators of digitalization of industrial production in the Tyumen region. The main methods were system and situational approaches, socio-economic modeling.
   Results: scientific and theoretical approaches in the field of assessing the impact of digital technologies on industry are systematized; the regional experience of the Tyumen region on digitalization of industrial production is investigated; the main trends and limitations of the sustainable transformation process of digitalization of production and management of the industry are identified.
   Conclusions. Large industrial complexes have the greatest innovative potential for adaptation and development of digital technologies, optimization of resource potential and concentration of production capacity in specific territorial conditions. Digital solutions and technologies reduce costs, improve technological processes, improve the quality of industrial products, reduce the amount of human error risk and increase production volumes.
