Abstract

Relevance. In history, many countries have faced the challenge of managing a multinational community. Russia shows that diversity in itself can be both a wealth and a challenge. Ethnic conflicts in Russia have a long history and remain an urgent problem in our time.

The purpose is to identify the main trends and patterns of the development of ethnic conflicts in Russia, as well as to consider various approaches to their resolution.

Objectives: to analyze the main theoretical approaches to the study of ethnic conflicts; to consider the history of ethnic conflicts in Russia; to characterize the main types of ethnic conflicts in Russia; to analyze various ways of resolving ethnic conflicts in Russia.

Methodology. Typological analysis was used as the methodological basis of the study (to classify ethnic conflicts in Russia) and a comprehensive analysis (to consider various ways to resolve ethnic conflicts in Russia).

Results. The main results are defined as follows: within the framework of this work, an analysis of scientific sources was carried out, on the basis of which the main types of ethnic conflicts in Russia and various ways of resolving ethnic conflicts in Russia were determined.

Conclusions. Based on the results of the analysis of scientific sources, the following conclusions can be drawn. Ethnic conflicts in Russia are a serious problem that needs to be addressed. The main causes of conflicts were identified as socio-economic factors (inequality in living standards, unemployment, discrimination); cultural and religious factors (differences in languages, traditions, customs); political factors (power struggle, infringement of the rights of national minorities). To prevent and resolve ethnic conflicts in Russia, it is necessary to take into account various historical, social, political and psychological factors.
