Abstract

Relevance. In the modern world, virtual organizations and virtual teams are becoming more widespread. The COVID-19 pandemic has contributed in no small measure to this. Thus, according to a survey of Russian companies (January 2022), 35% of them transferred more than 50% of their employees to a remote or hybrid work format. With the growing number of organizations switching to virtual teams, the issues of their effective management become more important. To date, there are business and scientific publications that provide recommendations for managing virtual teams, including the use of technological tools - online, electronic resources and programs, etc.
The purpose of the study is to systematize virtual team management tools and develop recommendations for their use to improve the efficiency of virtual teams.
Objectives: to substantiate the relevance of virtual teams in the post-COVID economy; describe the benefits of virtual teams and their specific challenges; summarize various virtual team management tools; determine the possibilities and directions of their use.
Methodology. In the process of research, general scientific methods of logical analysis, the method of desk research, as well as methods of comparative analysis, the method of systematization, and the descriptive method were used.
Results. For the first time, the main technological tools for managing virtual teams that currently exist were systematized. This systematization made it possible not only to give a comprehensive understanding of these tools, but also to determine the directions for their use to improve the efficiency of virtual teams.
Conclusions. The practical application of virtual organization management tools makes it possible to monitor projects, tasks and resources, simplify planning, successfully delegate work and tasks, comply with calendar deadlines and timely completion of projects, implement operational communication between team members and managers, increase the transparency of information about joint activities team members, productivity and, ultimately, helps to ensure the efficient operation of the virtual team.
